My second January favourite of the series is Halladay’s Tearooms, I am lucky enough to have this little gem right on my doorstep, the quaint spot is hidden amongst Bedford Place in the Southampton city centre.
I have been itching to visit here for a while after wondering past it a bunch of times and I can happily say it did live up to my expectations.
First of all I have to mention the decor, Halladay’s is filled with a charming cosiness, the vintage pink and turquoise theme with the abundance of roses on each table makes it impossible to not want to take pictures.
Of course a tea room wouldn’t be a fabulous tea room without great food. On this occasion we went for the cake, which was a hard decision due to the amount of variety on their menu. We got the raspberry cake and the carrot cake to share, which are freshly made locally. To wash the cake down we got blueberry-cinammon coffees which were just a tasty as the cake.
The service was excellent and the attention to detail was something you don’t find very often! What Halladay’s may lack in size it makes up for in character.
Let me know your favourite tea rooms below!
